The final Harry Potter was just plain awesome.  The courage, friendship, and heroism displayed by the characters inspiring.  The deus ex machinas well placed.  The questions answered eloquently.  Very pleased with this series.

This was one of the worst weekends I have ever experienced in recent memory.  Probably easily the worst weekend of the year.  Basically I got up to pee around 3 AM.  You never expect the toilet to erupt after you flush at 3 AM.  But that's exactly what happened.  All of a sudden all this random stuff started blowing up through it and flowing off the toilet.  I'm just sitting there expressionless as it overflows then it's off to tossing paper towels down to try to damage control.  Unfortunately the entire floor gets flooded and I'm standing on the only dry spot in the shower thinking, "Wow, are you serious?"  So I jump to the hallway and grab the paper towels, plunger, whole sheebang and start fixing the place up.  I'm just drying off the floor feeling sorry for myself when I'm reminded about this book I read back in high school, Kaffir Boy.  It's about a young man growing up in Apartheid South Africa and what he faces.  There's this one passage about his encounter with the 'shit men', guys that clean up the waste for the shantytown.  Pretty much the worst job around just to put a couple of dollars to live through the next few days.  Remembering that just made me realize that  yes, this situation sucks but overall I have a great life and even my shittiest of weekends pale in comparison to what most people face everyday.  So I ended up wiping everything up, alcoholing the entire bathroom, throwing away the bath rug in the trash can then just throwing the entire trash can away outside.  Cleaned myself up afterwards and just took a walk to clear my thoughts.  There's so much to look foward to this week that I can't sit around feeling better over stupid random crap.  Anyways, I also just watched http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1762835  Enjoy the clip, it really made my morning.

I have to get up at 4 AM for truck unload, this is just absolutely depressing.  On an update on the work front, I am absolutely terrible at golf and got owned by my bosses.  That said, I've been invited to go back and play with them again on the 14th/15th.  I think they enjoy the whole kicking the crap out of the helpless because they can thing...Anyways, it is pretty much looking like I'm heading up north.  Barring some insane reversal on their or my part, I will be enjoying the fine environs of Sactown.  The huge positive is my access to Tahoe/Heavenly from whereever I'll be living.  Huge negative, no beach.  I'll say it again, no beach.  Ah well.  Anyhows more details to come as my bosses update me.

Such a frustrating ending...get a couple of wheelbarrows for Derek Fisher, ugh.

Not much time to post before work so it'll be quick.

-Warriors basketball fans are rabid, hungry, and just plain in love with their team.  Great arena, great team.  Experiencing the playoff basketball atmosphere for the first time was just amazing, even more so than the All-Star game.  Being able to share that experience with someone was even better.

-Little kids are much much harder to handle than I thought.  They run you ragged with hide and seek, take your block towers out with little lawnmowers, dogpile you with Horsey, and then fart on you when you're carrying them.  They're so damn cute and fun though.

-Seagulls are crazy, pigeons still try to run into people in San Francisco.

-Sushi House is always awesome.

-Hills in Berkeley are too high.

-Egg Custard Tarts are great as always.

-Susanna's driving, interesting...

-While watching Hitch, one of the songs started playing and I nearly jumped off the sofa because I hear that song every day at work on the Muzak (Don't you Worry 'bout a Thing).  Honestly we need new Muzak in the stores.  It was the same Muzak in Wisconsin and it's the same all the time.

-I'm being offered a promotion in Northern California, which is awesome, but I don't know about the Sacramento area.  It all comes down to which position, amount of raise and Reloc being offered, Real Estate in the general vincinity, social scene (Not that important since social life will be non-existant while I open the new store), and how much pressure I want to put on myself.  Pressure meaning, I would be opening a new store with a totally new design/layout.  Which means it's right under the eyes of the Senior VP in charge of the the West Coast (He lives an hour away and there's a golf course near the new store) and probably get 3 or 4 visits from the CEO and all the other fun high Execs. and such.  Obviously a huge risk/reward situation and sort of a no brainer that I should go for it.  The question is, do I want to kill myself for those 5 months (6 days/week, 15 hours/day).

-Quite honestly I'm willing to drive up to an hour to stay closer to the Bay Area but that means about 17-18 hour of my day dedicated to work and the other hours to sleep...

-On the flip side I can be proud of my networking (Buttkissing or showing off, probably both) at Corporate since they made me this offer.  Being the annoying guy who raised his hand and answered all the questions helped, older people are surprised when you answer a question they think you don't know, impressed when you answer about twenty of them.

-More to come over the next few days, they'll be giving me more information and having me talk to the higher ups, should be interesting.

-A huge shout out to my friend Andy for making the Graduate Program at MIT, amazing guy as always.
